i allready tried polaroid plug in for dust removal it worked best so far, but i am intrigued to see what the photoshop gurus have to say about this?

If you've been very careful about dust on the glass and on the print (I assume you're scanning prints) then have you looked to see if there is dust on the underside of the glass that might be causing issues?

Take a look at VueScan for some other software dust options. Some success can be achieved with the "Infared Clean" -
btw I think your scanner is nice, actually I think it is a priority to use a scanner before buying a digital camera. |

I had a similar problem and it was on the underside of the scanner glass. Well scanners aren't really built to be pulled apart easily but one night I took it home and pulled the entire thing apart with my trusting phillips head screwdriver (you have to remember exactly where everything goes and in what order). I cleaned the glass perfectly and put it back together again and presto, good scanns again. It was a big job though. |

As André posted, VueScan is great, however in order to do infrared cleaning, the scanner needs to be able to scan in RGBI (four-channels, RGB + I=infrared). |
