For those of you who use a DSC-P50...
How do you/can u manually adjust the shutter speed?
I've noticed that my shutter speed in my pictures vary a lot, yet i don't know how to adjust it.

IF your camera have "S" mode that means you can adjust the shutter speed manually!
But because you don't know how,your camera does it for you,isn't that nice ?! :-)

My camera is the big brother to yours. You should have a Program mode with a button "AE" click until you see a "AEs" and with the control pad you can increase and decrease the shutter speed.
Shutter Speed faster = 1/1000 (of a second) Sports photos, birds wings (freezing)
Shutter Speed slower = 8"(Seconds) Star shots, cool braking lights making red trails (my favorite)

| But I wanna be able to adjust it so that I have a super fast or super slow shutter speed. I dont want it to adjust it for me |

Sorry I thought you had the DSC-"S"50 oops. I don't think your camera has manual settings.

| Hmm..if my camera doesnt have manual settings...then how come when i look at the stats of my images, there are varying shutter speeds? some are 1/50, 1/60, 1/10, 1/30, etc. |

Some of the smaller Sony cameras are point and shoot and doesn't have many options. They're small enough to put in a purse/backpack whatever and most of the shots are automatically set for you.
Basically a good "snapshot" camera. Pull it out, turn it on, and it should give you a decent picture. Yet still a lot better then those cell phone cameras.

Your camera is point and shoot,fully automatic.
To increase shutter speed use:
ISO 400,EV -2 and Portrait set up!
