Anyone have this camera?
I was getting really excited about buying it for $575, Great features and i love the look,
also has some great reviews
Then a friend told me some of his mates are having problems with the buttons and lights and they are taking it back,
Now the place i would be getting it not have a 'shop' warranty i am a little worried that this may happen to me nd then i cannot get it replaced etc...

I own this camera, and so far I really enjoy using it. But it is my first SLR so I dont really have any knowledge of other models to compare it to except digital P&S.
I dont know about the deal though, im always suspicious of prices that low.
I got a kit with a bag, filter, 75-300mm lens, camera body, 18-55mm lens for $1,000. including a warranty. But its your call. |

Hi, I own the same model camera.
Good as a your first DSLR, but if you have some experience,and serious about photography,
I would advice Canon 40D and above.
personally, I am thinking of upgrading to a Canon 5D. |

I'm completely infatuated with mine... but, like with photokariangel, it's my first dslr, so who knows. That would be a killer deal, though... which makes it a little bit scary. I think I paid 750 for mine, all told, but I just got the 18-55 mm lens with it. |

Prices for these entry-level dslrs have been dropping lately...$575 seems reasonable for the xti (as I'm writing this, Amazon has the kit for around $580)
I have a friend who has had the xti for a while, and he's very satisfied with it. |

I can't speak to the current pricing but I can say that I'm very pleased with mine. You can check-out the shots taken here at DPC with the XTi by following this link...

I used my XTi for a little over a year and put 20k+ images through it, dropped it a couple times, drown it in a fast moving glacier fed river and the dam thing still works!! well for the most part anyway, has a little hiccup now and then but other than that I really liked mine and still do, just don't use it as much now I have the 40D, but still use it now and then and its always in my kit as a backup at the moment :)
Alot of the photos in my portfolio are still from the XTi

youll be fine. buy the camera.
although, i would try to look for a decent price in a local shop first.
