So, I was playing with some Lightroom develop presets that I recent downloaded from Inside-Lightroom, and came across one that trys to emulate the "300" effect. Pretty cool. I personally find the effect to be over the top for most shots, but it got me thinking along a whole different line, processing wise, and triggered a frenzy of lightroom developing experiments.
Some results:
    
I was already using lightroom for the majority of my global edits, but somehow it didnt quite register that I could do this much with it. Maybe I'm way off base... but I'm pretty stoked on the results! Now, if only LR was better at resizing / watermarking...

| They're based off the preset called "300" by Mike Lao. None of them use the actual preset, it was more of an inspiration/starting point to experiment with something different. Same sortof idea though... desaturate / boost vibrancy, crank the contrast, and work in a little split toning. |

I'm really diggin' the second photo (_IGP1627forweb.jpg). So, you took this at a 12mm focal length and at f/9? I just bought a ultra-wide angle lens (10-22mm) and hope to get more landscapes, myself.

I like this picture the most out of the batch (nice composition and tones), then the last one. Nice effect overall.

13mm, I think... it was with my old 10-17 fisheye (sniff...)
I cant decide whether my next wide will be the tokina version of the pentax 10-17, or a proper wide like the sigma 10-20... |
