from wiki:

Glasses, also called eyeglasses or spectacles are frames, bearing lenses worn in front of the eyes normally for vision correction, eye protection, or for protection from UV rays.

Although I'm not so sure about sexy - she looks like a bit of a dog to me . .

I do think sunglasses are indeed spectacles, but doubt they will score as well, not only because of DNMC voters, but because they tend to be less personal than direct eye contact.

Also, the description states watch out for reflections, which could be harder with sunglasses and could be a source of yet more DNMC votes.

When I think of spectacles, I think of something clear as far as the glass goes. BUT I looked it up and found:

Sunglasses are also popularly termed as spectacles, goggles or glasses. Generally sunglasses have colored lenses so as to prevent eyes from light and UV rays. So there you go.

I wonder if the voters can tell the difference in catchlight in the eyes or glare/cathclight on the glasses. Any opinions. Our just play it safe and no catchligh in the eyes.

Personally I wouldn't go there. No catch lights looks very lifeless. If your photo has depth to it, it shouldn't be hard to tell the difference.

Thanks...Just tried to upload the image. I thought we went to 720 on the longside? Is it just the member challenges at this size? I much rather have the large photo......hmmmmm

Sorry for the big pict...

Technically I believe so (according to definition on wikipedia), although you have a substantial amount of glare there. :-P

Amazing the concerns that fickle voters raise, isn't it? :-)

Not quite. It says watch out for glare. Glare and reflecton are two different things. Reflections off sunglasses could yield pretty interesting shots. Now the DNMC crowd would likley still argue that one.

I've entered, pulled it and re-entered twice. LOL OH, and it's NOT sunglasses. haha

Look up GOGGLES in the dictionary. Any submission like this will get my "1" vote.

Wow, you folks are picky picky picky. If it's got two lenses (or even just frames for two lenses) that go over your eyes and something to hold it on your head, it meets the challenge in my book (whether they're actually over the subject's eyes or not). And my nominee for the OOBie in advance is a closeup of someone's eye wearing contacts.

:-) Look up GLASSES on Wikipedia (found by internet search on "Spectacles") and you'll see all sorts, including some "Goggles". Isn't this fun? He-he. Hey, about time for another Bokeh challenge isn't it? :-P

Bad, Barry! Bad! Go sit in the corner! I just saw two people starting to go at it about bokeh in a completely un-bokeh-related thread.
