Our first YAPPIE of 2008 goes to yospiff, for excellence in commenting.

I'd like to nominate yospiff for a Yappie. He's done 100% comments on more than one challenge now, and he seems to really try to find something constructive to say about most of the images.

...Adding info to the nomination for yospiff. In another thread, he wrote:

"My largest frustration is when I think I have a great entry and it does low 5's with little feedback to tell me why. My answer to that issue has been to comment on everything I vote on. The result of commenting has been that taking the time to analyze why I do or don't like others shots has been contributing to an improvement in my own photos."

I would support that [nomination] 100%. At the start of the thread posthumous differentiated between quantity of comments and quality of comments but to my mind yospiff has combined both

Just wanted to chime in on this too. I've received quite a few comments from him lately - even on pics that don't get a lot of attention lol.

Congratulations, yospiff! Keep on yapping!

Wow. This was unexpected. I've seen those on others profiles, but had not given much thought to what got one.

Thanks for the honor and the bling for my profile page! I'm glad the comments are appreciated. It's simply a matter of "do unto others..."... you know the saying.

I guess I'll have to join Team Suck now?

Mmmm. One more question. What is the Yappie award supposed to represent? Looks like a lollipop. So it's A "Sucker"?

No, it doesn't mean you have to join Team Suck. And yes, it looks like a lollipop because it's awarded by Team Suck (hence the sucker part) but it doesn't mean you're a sucker. Or that you suck. Quite the opposite - it's an honor bestowed upon those who go above and beyond to make quality comments with the goal of helping others improve (or at least get some feedback) and in turn developing a better feel for how to improve their own work.
