| I think we should go with the original plan and start this week as scheduled. Many of us have put in a lot of effort (probably MUCH more effort than for most challenges), and it would be sad to see that go to waste. |

What I don't like is that no where in the rules does it state that it has to be one burst. And to run on the one burst assumption means that motion is only supposed to happen within a given (yet unspecified) time frame.

This is what the Supreme Overlord of Noses posted in the Site Updates and Advanced Editing forum a few days ago. We'll see if he has a strong enough spine to stick with his convictions, or if he will waffle like a two-bit politician. |

I'm going to bed now, and tomorrow I will shoot my interpretation of what I understand as 'Time Lapse' photography.
I will spend time PP all 10 selected images, blending and cherry picking frames to achieve MY interpretation.
If they choose to DQ it for violation of some narrow and illogical set of guidelines then so be it.

Keith, I'm off to bed now and up at 07:00 for my 'shoot'. I'll be cherry picking too (from individual bursts) lets hope the voters understand the rules better then we do lol. Let the serious trash talking start tomorrow! |

I was totally going to postpone the first week until I read this.
Haha. Just kidding. While it would make all our lives easier to postpone, this is the League of Death not the League of Comfy Chairs. Everybody needs to give it their best go. Believe me, I'm not psyched about it either, but Rule 1a pertains even to the Supreme Overlord.
I got a totally vanilla shot in at the moment that will likely score a 5.3. I'm toying with a totally out-of-the-box shot tomorrow that will either win or score a 4.9 before it is promptly DQ'd. That's life in the League of Death. :) |

Well, the object is to show progression of a single natural motion, so if it were a very slow motion (like your sunrise - sunset example), then it would be fine. Bingo. You just have to shoot a single motion, and then you can use whichever frames from that set that you want. The rules say the purpose of the multiple images is to allow time-lapse photography. I think it's not time-lapse if you have your subject do a similar thing repeatedly and then combine images from several run-throughs. Note that here I'm referring to the rules with "time lapse," not to the particular challenge underway. This is a rules question, not one of DNMC.

| Looks like my killer idea was already dead. I failed to get the requisite set of images this morning. Will be trying again tomorrow am. This is harder than it looks. |
