This photo seems so unsharp in the thumb-version, while the photo itself is sharp enough. I saw this happening at other sites too.
Why is this?

Thumbnails of low-contrast, "softer" images always look way soft compared to their larger versions.

I've never seen that in other photos of mine, and well, this one is just one as usual. Contrast is pretty high I think, and it ain't really soft..

That's just one crazy photo, makes my eyes foggy... that explains the unfocusness :P |

The contrast on the subject is low, and the lighting is very even, which means "soft" in the sense I am using it. So we don't have any details of the subject popping up clean int he thumb, and it looks softer for that reason. Anyway it's just an observation; I have seen it on some of my images as well.
