does the shadow on the left side of the plate kill this shot, or does something else altogether kill it?


p.s. title should have read SHRED this shot......

looks to me like the light source is too low, not giving enough light to the silverware. Also I think a second light source would help remove the shadowy area on the left. I wonder if placing the silverware to the sides of the plate would be better. Maybe a napkin too.

thanks yeah, that def crossed my mind but i was using a 50mm so i couldnt get it all in the shot easily, i will def revisit this, not done yet

Try square crop.

I'm strange maybe...but I don't really care for the wooden table that it's on. Maybe the grain is too strong on it? I like the color of it a lot, it just feels somewhere in between rustic wood (which would be ok) or total smoothness (which would be ok). And probably a little more light to give the shot depth. But I love the color of the blue plate, and I think it complements the color of the wood well (even if I don't like the grain!) :-)

noted and appreciated, also this is completely random,off subject maybe even sexist.....but has anyone told you your profile pic is TOTALLY hot in a Lauren Bacall kinda way?

Hahahahaha! Thanks :-) I'll definitely take that as a compliment, because that was the kind of look I was going for. Now if I could only look like that while I go to work and the grocery store!! ;-)
