I'm wondering how I can go about this. I've got some portraits that we taken in some really difficult lighting situations, and after editing and getting the color correct for *most* of the image, the shirts have this blue/purple tint to them, and I just need to get rid of that! Any advice on how to do this?
I just want to get the shirts white - don't care about the rest of the picture's color, as I could just do it as a layer and then erase. Thanks! |

Bleach :-D
Or you could use a Hue/Sat layer and mask the shirt.

What editor/version?
I use Photoshop CS3. I often use the new B&W adjustment layer to get B&W images. But a few times I've done something similar to what you're trying to accomplish. I created the B&W adjustment layer, filled the layer mask with black, and then painted white over the areas where I wanted the image to go white. I usually then fade the opacity of this layer a bit because, in the real world, it seems like nothing is pure white (the subject is bound to reflect the light source or something near it, etc). So I get it mostly white (getting rid of most of the blue that you're seeing), but keep just a hint of color.

| Well, it definitely works. I just did a sloppy trial and really like the results, so now I'll have to go through and painstakingly erase :) Oh well, it will be worth it. Thanks dwterry! |
