I don't want to sound like Captain Sensible or anything . . but . . why don't you have a month on month Free Study Challenge over 2008 and the loser has to have their 'punishment' photo up until such times as they can regain the lead ?

this way talj or Ecce Signum may only have to put up with a month's shame . . or up to a year ? I think that would add a little spice to the challenge - it would be like trying to win back the ashes : (

Hi Steve, thats not a bad idea at all...that way Andi can have the photo on his profile for January and we'll see what happens in Januarys free study...

So Laird Signum, what do you say?

Well, if you want to change the rules Talj I'm ok with that (although it only proves you think your losing!)

It's not the winning that's important and all that....

Now if that doesn't back up your above statement nothing will...

Can't win 'em all I say....would be nice to beat you just once though

We have that anyway...we may appear to be the best of friends but in the photography realm we're bitter rivals ;o)

You'd hate to lose to me, isn't that right Andi?

Should you really be letting everyone know where you usually shop Andi?

Nice to see you doing a bit of research. I have a pair of Hanae's on stanby but I doubt I will need them because you gonna be wearing the panties from Feb hopefully with a piece of A4 taped to your back too.

Free Study 1/2008 punishment to commence on rollover after voting and set to last the whole year until new years day 2009. If you do this month thing with Talj then you will need a few shots to have handy.

Am getting a feeling of being unloved here :(

MAK, we have a few days to finalise our challenge, how about we both go out together one day and enter our best shots from the meet?

And Talj, looks like your getting off lightly!

I can feel another London GTG coming on ;o)

It's good to know that whatever happens with our little 'bet' I will at least get to go to your profile, Andi, and see you looking even more stoopid than normal :-P for most of 2008...now if that's not justice...

Hey man, plenty of love. I don't risk the chance of having to wear frilly panties for a whole year on my profile for just ANYONE you know.

Be cool to go for a shoot with you anytime but for the Jan free studdy I will need to be on my highest level of meditation and need to visit my special places of enlightenment ...

I am also in the FSM contest and the Jan free study is the first of that contest so nothing personal.... feel the love.

Ahh I always have loved a good cage match.

And what better way to up the ante than throwing in a little public shaming! I think you guys are on to something here.

lol MAK and here's me thinking it was nothing out of the ordinary for you ;) and, the only reason I asked was to steal a shot from one of your 'special' places. I've signed up for the FSM as well and will be trying :)

C'mon Ecce Signum, lets have this month on month - that way we can all have the pleasure of seeing both of you at some point :- )

If it helps I will happily agree that whoever loses the current challenge still has to have the stated photo in their profile for the whole of 2008. Then we can have a monthly battle with a different forfeit...that way I don't get moaned at for 'backing out'!

So Steve, any ideas what the monthly forfeit should be?

No, no...I'm just at one with my punishment :o) And to stop me from throwing the camera away I think I could do with a monthly 'battle'

Well I really like the original idea of having to hold up a sign proclaiming the other person to be a better fotog - maybe we should just increase the hyperbole & superlatives each time, really dig through that dictionary and increase the size of the sign to accomodate.

So for instance, the first sign might simply say 'XXXX is a better fotog than me'

If you lose a second time you have to add a superalative to it i.e. 'XXXX is a Fabulously better fotog than me'

3rd time 'XXXX is a Stupendously, Fabulously better fotog etc' I'm sure you get the drift :- )

This way each time you lose it gently tightens the screw and increases the sign size - heck if Ecce Signum plays a tactical game the sign could end up big enough to hide his choice of underwear :- ) of course to do so he would have to wax lyrical about your photographic abilities - so a tough call for him there. lol.

You also get to see how long and eloquent your signs are by the end of the year

Well, sounds good to me...Laird Ecce?
12/27/2007 04:13:06 PM · #49
if he takes too long to reply I will simply end up thinking on further refinements to the punishment - such as each time one of you has to reshoot your 'punishment piccie' it must be in a different style (as well as the added superlatives).

The winner gets to choose which style it has to be shot in by visiting the Gallery page and deciding which of the titles is to be used as a theme (different theme each time).

So the loser chooses the superlatives to add - the winner chooses what style they want it shot in.

Hey this is becoming a side challenge - not a punishment :- )

LOL Don't make things too difficult for me...self portraits are (funnily enough) not my favourite subject!
