Photograph something in flight, either man-made (airplane) or natural (bird).

30% of the challengers must have been confused or something.

Even as explicit as the challenge may appear, it is always open to individual interpretation.

Its pretty normal, no matter how clear the challenge is worded, and in this case it would be difficult to make it any clearer, some people just take a photo and submit it. It makes me wonder if people do it on purpose just to get people going.

I made an attempt at being sarcastic this morning just after breezing through the new pics. Looks like I failed...

Lets try it this way:
To all you who have made the effort to find an original idea for this challenge beyond planes and birds, I wish all the best.

Not a bird, not a plane.

Still not a good score.

It is truly rather hilarious how seriously some folks take these challenge descriptions. Over the past year, I have seen disagreements over what is qualified and what is not, quotations from dictionaries, attempts to disqualify, and more.

Folks, it is suppose to be fun and creative!

Perhaps, the very nature of photography calls for strict linear thinking? Perhaps, it is interpretive and therefore it will always be debated? I simply marvel at the reactions.

I agree with some of what you say and i sometimes wonder at the lengths people go to ascertain what the particular challenge acutally means. Having said that the challenge is there to help and develop our photographic skills, which is what most of us are here for, are we not?
