Thanks to Talj I can now use the prefix 'Laird' rather than Mr as I'm a Scottish land owner. Whilst I won't be inviting you guys to my Castle perched high on a mountain overlooking a famous Loch I now own 0.822 hectares in the Parish of Kilchoan (Ardnamurchan). If anybody is passing that way soon I'll send you the co-ordinates for my Estate :)

And how much is that exactly? Enough to fly a kite on? Enough to enjoy a picnic? When will we see photos. What an awesome and generous gift, no matter the size.

Well, its about 1 square foot so yes, you could fly a kite on it lol. I might get a chance to visit my estate in April and if I can find it will take a macro shot for you ;)

A hecacre is a unit of area equal to 10,000 square metres , or one square hectometre so it would seem to be a bit mor ethan one sqare foot I would think.

According to the all knowing and all powerful Google:
0.822 hectares = 8220 square meters = 88479.34362535621 square feet

That "estate" is a square roughly 250 feet on a side, LOL. Not much as estates go :-) Of course, your 1 square foot may border the salmon stream, in which case you're in luck :-)

Methinks that bordering a distillery would be more rewarding.

Heehee! Merry Christmas Natalya and Andi! You know, if we're neighbours Laird Andi, we could join forces and maybe time-share our combined lots...? :D

Merry Christmas your Ladyship...I'm afraid with my bad legs there'll be no curtsying, sorry ;o)

Now, you'll have to pop over to the UK sometime...we've worked out you could both just about fly a kite on your 'patches'! ;o)

Hmm, all I see here is 0.842 Hectares of the Kincavel Estate, Sonachan, Kilchoan... and then the gps data points stuffs. I'm about 1km from the lighthouse, if that helps? :D I have got to learn how to read maps....

Maybe there's a world record we could break for having the most people on 1 square foot, all flying kites... or something... ;P

Methinks I'd struggle to get my 'wheels' on your square foot and have room for a kite...nevermind another person...However, I am useless with measurements (not always a bad thing though I'm told) ;o)

Oh and Rina...many thanks for the Christmas gift...it's been pretty cold here the past few days and they've come in handy! ;o) After explaining to my younger brother what they were I had a good chuckle ;o) Am thinking Andi could model them this weekend...now there's a picture DPC'ers should see! lol

No problemo Natalya, we could fit your wheels easy and then just stack everyone else! A human pyramid thing... yeah.

Ahhh, yes, there it is. North East Quadrant, Sector B.

Neighbours we are!

Edit because I had too much to drink last night and can't actually see very well.

As much as I would love to MAKE him wear them I think it'd take A LOT of beer (maybe I could wait till he passed out?) ;o)
