I'm just wondering if anyone has had some really bad posterisation issues straight out of the camera... my D200, and indeed my D50 as well seem to suffer really badly from this on single-colour surfaces (walls, peoples faces) especially badly when using flashes...

Any ideas?

Are you seeing the posterisation on the camera LCD, on your monitor, or on prints?

If you're seeing the effect on your monitor, check to make sure that you've got it set to 32-bit colour, and not 16-bit colour.

I'm seeing it on both my PC and my notebook... the second I open my RAW files... just this week... haven't changed any camera settings or anything... seems weird
