... to share pictures with family (and sometimes friends) across the pond?
I would like to upload images only visible to my family so that they can download and if they choose to print pictures of her granddaughter.
They do not need a poster only enough to print a 4x5 (and the eventual 8x10), so which size would be enough for them to do so and at the same time to avoid using too much bandwidth??
Also if you would like to share a bit of your work flow on how to convert the images coming out from the 400D (RAW or high-JPG) quickly into manageable files for this purpose.
Thanks in advance ;¬) |

hey valdo
if it was me, i would first resize to the requred print size, and sharpen viewing at 100%.
then save for web and use the slider to adjust quality / file size ratio to get the best quality with maximum KBs you want to send.
hope this helps!

well, it depends what quality print you want. Most printing shops print at 300dpi, so 4 a 4x5 pic you'd need a 1200x1500 pic.
Use the Help -> resize tool in PS for this as it does a better job than the image size thing.
Then sharpen the resized version at 100% because at 100%, a pixel on the screen is a pixel that will be printed. |
