How many people have cheated on challenges. Like dis-obeying challenge rules and getting away with it. Not that I expect you to actually announce this on the boards risking your account being banned, but I just wanted to see what would come out of this topic...

I heard audio-book version will be available soon at www.dpcradio.com

also, I wouldn't worry about that issue, you can't get more than yellow. I heard the second issue guarantees at least red ;)

I'll come right out and say it - I cheat on every challenge. I photoshop everything! Hell, I don't even own a camera! And "friend voting"? Don't get me started! I have over thirty six thousand ghost accounts - including 10 Site Council seats! How do you think I get validated??

..and yet, not a single ribbon! Just proves what they say about cheaters. :/

Well I feel like a giant weight has been lifted off my shoulders! Thank you!

In the rubber ducky challenge in 2005.... my rubber duck ..... it wasn't made of rubber. ..... it was plastic. Heck, even the grapes were plastic (the water was real, though).

There, I've confessed, and like Art says, that's a giant weight off my shoulders.

I am how do you say....regular.

I cheat at least once a day, usually right after I wake up.

I eat a high fiber diet, and drink beer to wash it all down. I think that is why my internal clock is so regular.

I get inspired a lot when sitting on my thrown while taking a cheat. It's kind of a yen thing.

Does this help.

Does it count if you didn't know?

Pretty much all of my early stuff was "Damaged" by Microsoft Picture Manager because I didn't know the proper way to download my images.

Then I got PS2, started shooting RAW, and learned how to do it right.

Oh, I cheated on that one too. The camera was on a tripod very near the table :P

I must confess that my street smarts shot was not taken on a street...

I feel so much better now. The weight of the world has been lifted

On the very first challenge I entered, I had cloned out a distracting object in the corner of the image and entered it, before I bothered to read the rules. Eh, I don't think anyone will worry about taking away my mediocre score for that...

I've been very conscious of the editing rules since then.

Every one of my shots prior to the Image Grain II challenge would have been DQ'd, as I took them before I starting taking RAW images and uploaded using Adobe. I didn't know it corrupted files until my 5th place got DQ'd in that challenge. Sorry, no weight off the shoulders, though :-)

Cat - that is a pretty sneaky way to try and get all your older images DQ'd so you can end up with a higher average than me. You really are a cheater!!!

I think most people don't purposely cheat, but the ones that do get axed pretty quickly... now as to cheating during voting... well that's another matter.. and if you mention the name Rikki a whole new can of worms opens : )

The rule is

it's not cheating until U are caught.

still - just to be sure I suggest a drug test to every ribbon winner.

Sweet, Site Council, are your reading this, and would you please DQ every one of my entries prior to Image Grain II? Oh, wait, maybe not, I'd have a pretty stiff penalty for something like 30 DQ's...

I got caught not cheating on challenges, but cheating the rules. I create another account just to have a different personality on the boards. I was even going to enter challenges to work for that brown ribbon.

I was caught and the Site Council didn't think it was as funny as I thought it was. I was unable to log on for a month (or was it 3 months).

Basically, don't do it. I'm sure they track IP addresses and crack down on it. It only took them a day to figure it out, but it's not worth it.

OK, I admit it... I started injecting my camera with steroids in June, 2004. *sob* The difference in performance from earlier seasons is striking. I'm not proud of it, but I feel better coming clean. My current camera is all natural, I swear. The prescription lotion just, uh... keeps the grip from drying out. Yeah, that's it.

Yankee fan, perhaps?

Shannon, the image of you in a dark room with hand lotion, especially with a camera present, really isn't something I needed in my head. :P

And sorry Catherine, but you don't get to dump those early entries. Cheating is different from not being able to prove you didn't cheat. ;)
