After reading the definition of basic editing I find myself a bit confused. I read that "unsharp mask" is allowed but I do not clearly understand if "shapening" is allowed.

Is "sharpening" allowed in basic editing?

Just make sure it is applied to the entire image. No selective sharpening allowed.

Yes, you can use any of the sharpening tools available, as long as the tool is used on the whole image. Note that some add-in sharpening actions do create selections. Unless you know that a third-party action does not use selections, it is best to avoid them.

Yes,not question there. Sharpening has to be for the entire image. No lasso allowed.
