Congrats on being used! :-) Good job, especially considering you were indoors with that lens and were able to pretty much freeze the motion.
From a first-glance technical perspective, it seems a little underexposed (although could be my monitor), plus the bright signboards right in front of the player coupled with the coach in her dark black outfit right behind the player kind of pulls my eye away from the subject. I know you don't have any control over your subjects in this case though, so overall it is well done. You captured good tension in the photo with her leg muscles and the coach pointing and yelling.
I bet if you could get a hold of a faster, longer lens you might be able to position yourself or frame the shots differently to avoid some of the distracting elements. You should try renting the 70-200 2.8 VR and see what that yields -- it's only $35 to rent for a weekend where I live. |
