...on printer ink. I bought a set of replacement ink cartidges for my Canon BJ S900 on eBay (same 3rd party ink you see everywhere). Total cost, including shipping was about $20 cdn, as compared to $120 cdn for the canon originals. Great deal!
Oh, NOW you wanna ask me about print quality, huh? the first few images were pretty good - maybe not quite up to snuff compared to the canon ink but not bad, by any stretch.
Then on one image i got this really big cyan coloured blotch on it. Kinda weird since it was a B&W print, and this printer has a 6 ink (including dedicated black) cartridge. Anyway, every image since has had all kinds of banding and smudges. I clogged the print heads irreparably. I've talked to Canon, taken the thing apart, cleaned it thoroughly, blah, blah, blah and it's still screwed.
God Bless Canon and their warranty, who are replacing the heads as we speak.
Needless to say, I got THREE pretty good prints, and will be without a printer for 2-4 weeks.
Now wasn't THAT a great deal?
Pedro
ps if i have to explain the moral of the story, I hope you reallllly enjoy your third party ink. :) |
