Aimee and I have both been watching our overall averages pretty close as of late. Before the Fairy Tale challenge Aimee was just shy of 6.2 and I was just shy of 6.1. With as many challenges that I have entered my overall average has been slowly working its way up. But I mean slowly. It would take at least three votes of 7 to change my overall average by .0001. After the SP challenge i was at 6.0985, and with my auto ad entry being in the mid 5s I was watching it go down. But last night before going to bed I noticed that my overall average was now 6.1086. It doesnt sound like a big change but a difference of .01 is huge after 200 entries. Aimees average also went up by nearly a hundredth as well. Anyone else see a change in their average? Anyone have an idea as to what happened to cause this change? Was there a recount in past votes or something? Not that I am complaining mind you - just curious. |

I also noticed a change in my average this morning, being currently not in any challenge it was quite suprising to see. Mine also went up a bit, not to much... I was also wondering about this but saw no recalculations posted or anything... |

Ummm.... I musta been a bad girl. Mine only went up by .0004. I want the whole tenth, please. :-)
Edit because I overestimated myself.

hmmmm....mine went up by 0.0002. Interesting, since I'm not entered in any challenges at the moment. |

Mine was 6.1115 when SP ended and should have gone down thanks to my Auto Ad entry, but is now at 6.1134. Strange, but I don't bother.

Another thing I just noticed is that my entry total is 203. Even with my images that havent finished vote time yet plus the 2 I have ready to go into vote my total is only 201. Take away those 3 and that leaves me with 198 - 5 short of the total my page has me listed at. So what I am guessing is maybe that the few images that I went ahead and self dqed are being counted in my entry total, but the votes I had on them have now been removed. Could it be possible that the votes on dq'ed images are no longer taken into account with our overall vote recieved average? |

Quick check on some dq'ed high scoring images of the past of users who had entered few to no other challenges shows that votes on images that have been dq'ed no longer count to your overall total average. |

I think the importance of this whole thing, once you get past all the math, is that Oliver is still ahead of Tim in the overall average thing. :-) And I do have one self-DQ that's Oliver's fault, so it all ties together quite nicely. |

He may be still ahead of me - but not nearly as far as before this whole adjustment. And while we may have the same number of ribbons I have more blues. And let me just say that if this site didn't have Oliver it wouldnt be nearly as much fun for me. |
