Hrghmph, I seem to have reached the limit on the pictures I can add to my favourites (although I really should be able to add 2 more?).
Is there any chance of extending this amount, as I've already gone through them all and kicked out any that I thought I could live without. The remaining pics all inspire me in one way or another and I really don't want to see any of them go.
How about it? :-) |

I commiserate with you Bob. I ran out, but then if I had more than two or three from a single artist, I eliminated their photos from my favorites and added the artist themself as a fave. It worked for a while!

the solution is pretty easy actually.. create an e-mail account on yahoo or hotmail, subscribe with a new username and use it to store another 200 favs.
Of course, you should not use it to give 10 to your own pics during a challenge even if, I wonder how diffuse is that behavior! ;)

Well, I think I might take the time to download all my favourites to my hard drive so I can look at them easily when I need inspiration. It seems a shame to have to resort to any of these methods though. I know I get a kick when people add one of my photos to their favourites, it's a shame that there's such a low limit on this when there are so many great photos I want to show my appreciation of. |

I am afraid that to download them on your disk violates 200 copyrights.

I'm no lawyer, but I think it's covered under fair-use. The pictures have been made available through the web site, and he's downloading them only for his own viewing, not for gain.

LOL
Hey bob, I'd take my chances. The "damages" are zero. If they sued you and won, they'd have to prove damages. They would probly win 1 dollar - just to prove they won.

Look in your browsers cache folder - we're all guilty!

Like I said, I'd rather have these images quickly available for inspiration AND be able to show the creators that I really liked them by having them in my favourites folder here. |

I would assume it's either a database size issue (unlimited favorites = a huge number of image numbers to store = longer lookup times), or just an inherent design issue (the database was set up with 200 fields, and that's all she (or he) wrote). |

I don't think a many-many table of favourites would take up that much space extending each person's allowance to 500 say... Especially bearing in mind how many people would be likely to take advantage of that (not that many). |

Heard about the earthquake in Japan. Hope everybody's fine over there.

I agree, unless its the second issue. But I'm not the one (directly) administering the database. |

Cache is outside normal copyright law. It's considered reasonable to keep anything (including mp3s, etc) cached for up to so many days (I think it's 20).
This follows a recent win from an ISP in the Netherlands taken to court for caching Kazaa files. |
