Hey everyone,
I currently manage my photo library using Adobe Bridge, and I edit using Photoshop CS3 on an iMac. I've searched everywhere, and I can't seem to find a way to do batch conversions of raw files to jpegs using Bridge (if there is a way to do this, PLEASE enlighten me!). I downloaded Lightroom, and that can do batch conversions beautifully. However, although Lightroom is a great piece of software, I really don't need any of its functions other than raw to jpeg conversion, and $299 is too much to spend for just that purpose. I've used ACDSee in the past, but it doesn't work on a Mac, from what I can see on their website. So, my question is, does anyone know of a good, reasonably inexpensive way to convert a bunch of raw files to jpegs at one time? Again, I don't need a do-everything piece of software, as I wouldn't need it for much more than converting. Please lead me in the right direction. Thanks!!

GraphicConverter and iPhoto can both handle batch conversions from RAW to JPEG. I think Photoshop can do it, too, but not positive.

iPhoto can do it? Wow, I guess I missed the obvious on that one! I'll have to give that a try. I never really paid much attention to iPhoto because 1) I have Bridge, and 2) I guess I wrote off iPhoto as not being very feature-rich, because it comes for free on any Mac. Live and learn. If it can be done in Photoshop, I'd love to learn how. Anyone want to chime in on that? Thanks Scalvert! |

If you have the latest iPhoto, you can make adjustments to a RAW file, then copy and paste those settings to others with similar lighting. When you're finished, just export them all as JPEGs. |

Don't sell the software that Apple includes on all Macs too short. They are some of the best developed software packages around. I manage 50,000+ images in iPhoto, I use iMovie, iDVD, Garage Band, and iWeb.
The iLife package is half the reason for buying a Mac. |

Ummmm..you can Batch convert using PS3, straight outta Bridge.
One by making an Action to do whatever it is you want to do in CS3. From Bridge you select Tools/Batch and select the action/set up the Batch and do it that way.
Or you can get Dr Brown's Services, download it, watch the tutorial on how to use Processor 1-2-3 and go back to Bridge/Tools and use it up.
