A freind of mine recommended a haridresser and fashion designer to me to shoot his portfolio. I met him briefly today. He has seen samples of my portrait work from my website and said he really likes my style and that I would have a good eye for what he needs in his portfolio. I will be meeting with him to discuss time frame and specific details next week.
Can anyone give me some advice on what questions I need to ask about the project other than how many models in one sitting, how many total sittings, and over all time frame.
How is the final product usually delivered for this type of project? printed album, mounted photos?
Any advice on this project will be greatly appreciated.

Your questions are the same I'd ask... but, they are all about the PHOTOGRAPHER's work. Try thinking of it from the client's end.
What medium will the images be used for (print, online, billboards)
How many copies will be used (500,000 run magazine, or 1 - 8x10 @ their salon?)
How long do they want to license good for?
I'm by no means an expert in this area, but that should get you headed in the right direction... ;)

Thanks for the info. I was able to talk to him today and we discussed a few more details. We also set up a meeting for tuesday to discuss specifics. He will also be bringing past portfolios and photos for me to view.
He will be sending the photos in to popular hairstyle magazines. I will retain copyright ownership of the images and provide a release for him to use them in his portfolio and for paid magazine submissions/advertisements. Some of these magazines are local and some national. He will also be including a shot of me and my contact information to go along with every submission he makes.
Vogue Magazine is paying for him to go their NY offices in February to discuss his work so I know these photos will be shown to them. This is the specific reason he is updating his portfolio now.
I will get more details and specifics when I meet with him on tuesday.
