Oh, none of them actually dare make that claim - just imagine the lawsuits! - but the implication is pretty much out there in the open. Or at least it is to my jaded copywriter's eye... |

OK, gotcha. And presumably you barf in your Wheaties every time you see a cosmetics ad in the morning paper, right? Now, THOSE guys are really pushing the envelope of credulity... And don't even get me started on the TV ads for ED pills, whatta crock! I never realized my life would be perfect if only...

My wife will often drive around and around a parking lot, looking for a closer space when there are plenty another 30 seconds walk away. She says I park out in BFE. |

In this case, it refers to the new terminology for the facility, Emergency Department, since it is far more than a "room" these days. This is different from the ED you hear about in commercials during football games ... ;-) |

Sounds more like an investment firm to me ... now Bare Snaffles might suggest a boutique of some kind ...

Everyone is insane! EXCEPT ME!!
Watched 15 MVA "victims" roll into our ED last night in less then 3 hours because they think they can still drive 75mph on an icy, snow packed roads (on an Interstate).
I drive a F-150 with big ASS tires and 4WD and was only going 40mph on the 65mph hwy to home, and felt it slip many times.
Welcome to snow in Colorado. |
What are ass tires?
Sorry, just had to ask.
I hear ya on the people driving like morons when the roads get icy and slick. It's no better here in Michigan.
Every winter, it seems like it takes about 2 weeks for the majority of drivers to extract their heads from their butts and learn to slow down when the roads are slick. Some folks never do. Those are the really scary people.
One winter morning I was driving to work and the freeway was covered in snow and ice. The semis were going about 25mph, I was plodding along at about 30mph, so I passed a semi slowly. This guy in an Explorer comes haulin' ass from behind and starts riding my bumper. As soon as I could, I got over to let him pass and he shot by me, accelerating hard. He must have been going 65 when he slowed down to let me know that he thought I was number one.
About 10-15 minutes later, I passed a strangely familiar Explorer in the ditch. Rubber side up. The guy was standing, knees deep, wearing a nice suit, in a snowdrift. Since a few other people were pulling over to help, I just honked and waved as I drove by and he let me know I was still number one.
