We were recently in New Zealand and wanting to phone home regularly.
I ended up buying a Telstra card after asking and being assured that it would work in Australia as well, if I didn't use it all before we left.
It worked out to an insanely expensive rate, apparently, as it didn't take me long to empty it. Before recharging I again asked (at a different shop) and was told, yup, would work in Aus, so I added another $20.
Well, by now I imagine you've guessed that nope, it wouldn't work in Aus! Instead I was recommended another company whose $10 card got me 380 minutes to Canada, more than twice the $20 Telstra one.
So now I have this card which might as well be used, so if there are any Kiwis (or anyone planning a trip there soon) who would like it, PM me your address and I'll pop it into the mail for you, first come first served :) I'll post when it's gone. |
