Hi! An artist friend brought this to my attention and I thought a lot of you might be interested. I'm WAYYYYYYY too old to participate - but that's another subject :) Looks like there is a fee to submit, but the "prize" is $5,000.00 and publishing plus gallery exhibition.

Here's the scoop:

I would enter if I had the extra $45. Money is real tight with me right now.

FWIW, note the extremely small allowable size for entries:

# 10 digital images of your work:

* Resolution: low (72 dpi)
* Format: .jpg, .gif or .png only. Please be aware that your files will be viewed by the jurors on the web, and if you submit files in .tif, .psd or other non-web-viewable formats, they will not be visible and you will be disqualified.
* Size: 500 pixels on the longest side, and a file size NO larger than 280 kb.

Also, why on earth would they give a hoot about "resolution" when they have already specified maximum pixel dimension?

R.

My guess is that if someone does steal your image the low 72 would make it pixelated and blurry so it wouldn't come out right.
