I have noticed for the past day or so that when I look at pics here on DP, the appear differently,(they would usually scroll down, now they they appear all at once) and alot of them look more pixelly than they should, including mine, I'm afraid to vote, because what if I am seeing something that isn't supposed to be that way, have they changed something here?

I have no clue what you're talking about.

If you have a PC, try hitting the Alt button and PrintScreen button at the same time. Then open MSPaint (start/run/type "mspain") and paste. Then upload the image somewhere with a link.

If you have a mac, I have no clue how to do a screen capture.

Might be able to figure it out better if we knew what you were talking about.

I know I'm sitting here thinking how the heck can I explain this,
what has always happened: Lets say I go into a challenge to vote and you get in there, you see all the pics, when I click on a picture, goes to the voting screen, the image there would start to scroll down revealling itself.
Now what happens: I go into the challenge to vote and click on a picture to see it full size, and instead of it scrolling down, the image just apears getting clearer and clearer until its all loaded up. I was wondering if they had changed a format or something, one of mine, "Mobile Home" seemed really clear before but now when I look at it, it looks really pixaly.
thats the best I can describe, thanks to anyone reading this and can figure out what I'm talking about, my main concern is the voting part. I don't wanna vote on it if its something I'm seeing wrong. ( I feel dumb because I can't explain)

If you have some sort of accelerator running so pages load faster that could be the issue.

Do you use Internet Explorer?
Have you done some sort of optimisation to get it to run faster lately?

I believe there are programs out there that can help users "Tune" their systems to speed up exploring etc. It usually involves not loading pics at all, though I suppose this could be changed?

Sounds like the difference between interlaced and progressive display of photos. Is this happening with all of the images?

Check this out. Is this what you're seeing?

EB's response is what I was going to say as well. This is normally a function of how the image is saved when you create it, but I suspect DPC may make changes to how they are displayed. The method you are now seeing has an advantage in that you get to see the whole image sooner, though with less detail.

I have noticed my Nikon L6 displays the same way in review mode. My Canon is fast enough that either it does not do it, or I can't perceive it.

I've noticed this on *some* images. As EBJones pointed out, it's because the photogs submitting those images are saving as "progressive" JPEGs. FWIW, that method takes more space, so it's not really advisable to save that way. Choose "baseline optmimized" instead.
