I think I know how he feels. Being different is exhausting. I don't know how I even get out of bed in the morning.

I'm also bummed about an email a friend sent me - seems a guy I worked with very closely with for three years in San Antonio killed an estranged girlfriend then himself this past weekend. Just too freakin' bizarre to even comprehend, you know?

Anyway, on to better things. I saw this posted in the Free Study scores thread, and hopefully she won't get mad at me for sharing this here, but it's bitchin'waycool!!!

Way to go, woman!

And in an unrelated side note, I am indeed back in the land of "boom" and much better food. This morning's boom opened my door for me. Seems I didn't quite shut it all the way.

Nick will be sorely missed. He was a master at capturing the light. A very rare thing on this site. It was probably the OOBIE. He figured he had accomplished everything he set out to due. :)

Too bad, I didn't get the chance to say good-bye.

I have a shot in for Fairy Tales and the FreeStudy. FreeStudy is doing well and my Fairy Tales shot is above a 5 which is surprising since it really isn't a Fairy Tale...but it does have the fairy tale quality per the description.

I haven't had the chance to post or enter much lately, but I have been reading the team suck thread quite religiously lately. Cheers all. Hope everyone is having a wonderful winter so far.

No way, I have the winning brown in self-portrait.

I found the nicest gift in my email today, from jaysonmc. In it he said, and I quote:

"I have been a little slow at getting the B&W winners thingy notified. But you are one of the winners for a subscription to B&W magazine. You can thank Team Suck."

Nearly made me cry! (But I'm in the office with a bunch of he-man type and that just wouldn't be acceptable behavior.)

So THANK YOU TEAM SUCK!!!!

I'm very very delighted. Thank you!

Deb, odd to say these both in one post.
Congrats on your new subscription. You surely deserve that and so very much more.
Sorry about your friend back Texas way. So very sad.
And no, I'd never get mad at someone as good and caring and special as you.

EDIT: to say SUBSCRIPTION not prescription. For those of you wondering ... I apparently subscribed meds for Deb, LOL. Too old when I start doing weird weird things like that!

So sorry to hear about your co-worker. Those are the types of things that make people wonder how well you can really ever know people.

And on a side note, when things went boom and your door came open, did you draw your weapon? This is just random curiosity, mind you and you don't have to answer if you don't want to, lol.
12/04/2007 10:11:40 AM · #2186
Oh, heavens no. I will not draw my weapon unless ordered to, because chances are I'd hurt myself more than anyone else!

Uh oh. I did a rather straight-forward self-portrait. But I'm not cute, so does that count? :-)

Lots of new toys in Team Suck! Congrats Susan and Alan and Jeanne - anyone else with new toys that I missed?

Soon! Deb, my mailman is starting to think I'm cracked. I peer out the window repeatedly in the timeframe when he comes, and come running out the door to see if he has a package. I've done this Saturday, yesterday and again today. Today he told me "I promise to bring it up to the door when it comes." Think that's a hint to stop bothering him? LOL!

I'm currently waiting for my 50-200 lens hehehe. That means loads of sports and wildlife shots from me! hehehhehehe Sorry, very excited...

And I am sure your portrait will be just fine! It's awful tho to put ourselves out there, isn't it? Mine is in, but i am hiding behind loads of makeup lol.

And that is awsome about you getting the subscription from jaysonmc! How generous of him to do that :)

Too funny! Poor guy is probably gonna have a nervous breakdown... I can't remember what day it went out, but it does take longer for stuff to leave here than to get here from there. I have no idea why. But it should be any day now, much to the chagrin of your harried carrier!

I haven't put it in my profile yet, but I'm learning to use the new 40D...the live view function is nifty for macro shots

Well, I will admit - Mine at least does meet the challenge. It IS a photo I took of myself.

Still think I've got the brown ribbon though. NOBODY wants to see me as their model.

Where's the birthday candle? What's a birthday without a candle to make your wish come true? BTW, I like the shot. Especially being able to pick up that bone and eat with your hands. Very much an alone feast.

Congratulations on the new camera. Nice birthday present. You know how to treat yourself well. I love that.

Oh, that pointy thing with the flame on top was a candle?!? Think I ate it. I was very, very hungry...and almost as hungry to get a new 2G card for new camera so I can go and start playing with it!

I'm jealous. That is supposed to be a pretty nice lens for the Olympus mount. I was about to purchase the 70-200 2.8 for Nikon myself, but decided to buy ticket to NZ instead. Things need to be cheaper in life.
