Any other ideas on what can be done with this?

I really hope the weather here improves so i can get a day out with my camera.

Assuming that the original is a jpeg, it looks like you've reached the limit of what can be done with this particular shot, because the sun is blown out so badly. You might try reshooting with the sun lower in the sky, possibly even below the horizon, or shoot at an angle where the sun isn't actually in the shot, but slightly out of the shot to the right or left.
