My son (27) has been looking at the Canon EOS 40D & 5D. He has started a small photography business. He needs another camera. What camera is the better choice? |

In his business, what will he specialize in? If portraits, go for the 5D (about the only camera that beats it, costs thousands of dollars more). If sports, go for the 40D for it's faster focus and shutter speeds.

There's also a huge gap in price between them if that's a factor for you. You can nearly buy two 40D's for the price of one 5D. |

i'd go for the 5d without question. The pictures just look better I think. It's more expensive but he won't find a better camera in the price range. |

Thanks for the info. I went with the Canon 40D because he does sports photos also. I also bought him the Alien Bee's DigiBee's lighting. |
