My husband and I have a retail shrimp business, which is doing fairly well considering our lack of working capital. If you haven't seen it, please check out our website theshrimppimp.biz. This is our temporary layout until I can figure out how to make a decent looking website:P
We have just gained access to a local establishment where we could sell our shrimp to be cooked on site and also have access to the kitchen for making our own retail products. Our (expensive) licensing is all about to expire and the licensing and setup for what we want to do is currently cost prohibitive.
I have entered us in a contest on ideablob.com where you can vote for the business startup idea you like and the winner gets a $10K prize to get going. Please take a moment to check out the site and our idea; and vote it up my idea if you like it.
If anyone else has a great small business idea, you should give it a try and send me the link so I can vote it up. Warning, the site seems a little slow.

Your shrimp look a little small compared to the shrimp I was eating on vacation in Thailand. But I am still giving you my vote and I hope it all works out for you.

Funny you should say that. I am sitting at the airport in Seoul right now waiting to board the plane on my way to Florida.
I see you are near the Melbourne area. I would love to get stationed there at Patrick. I was through there about four years ago and love the area. Florida just always seems to be the assignment location I can't get. Oh well, thank god for temporary duties down there.

Well, it's probably not all it's cracked up to be. Everybody here complains about everything. But there are still some pretty beaches and a few fun things to do. If your travels bring you around here, please drop in. It would be a pleasure to meet you. We are about 20 minute south of Melbourne and we love a cookout. My hubby was in the AF and you guys could probably swap stories all night! |

yeah...that license is eeexxxppeennsssiiivvee! my mother and father in law used to sell shrimp and they couldn't afford the license every year. They oyster over in Apalachicola.....and of course with Georgia threatening not to let enough water come through ...all the counties are in a huge uproar....Grist better to do something! :)

OMG! What a way to wake up!
Thanks to you all I went from 0% to the 90+% range overnight. I am now the top go getter for that sprint and a real contender for the prize. (Finally, I'm on a front page:P)
