Well I received my new canon 100-400L and I must say that it is pretty sweet! I've only had about an hour to shoot with it so far but the image stabilzation paid off big time. These shots were taken around dusk, handheld with shutter speeds between 1/160 sec to 1/250 sec at the full 400mm. I wish it did have a bit larger apature but then again I wouldn't be able to pay for it then. Hope to get out tomorrow on my day off and get to know this baby a bit better.

you got the wrong weapon for shooting them this time of year!----lol---nice shots good luck with the new lens!

That's the truth, I never see these big boys when I'm hunting. At least they cooperate with me when I have my camera!
