I wish to put a simple border on a photo that I am going to print. I've seen it done here numerous times on challenges.
I can't figure out how to do it. I have both Elements 5 and CS2, so whatever is easier. Thanks |

The easiest and simplest way is to use the Image|Canvas Size option, keep your photo in the center (center square clicked) and the indicate the amount of pixels or inches to add and the color.
If you want the more space at the bottom for text, etc, then you can do it again, this time only adding space at the bottom and keeping your image at the top (which now includes the border added previously.
You can also repeat the first step with different sizes and different colors to add the black/white/black border -- or other such colors.
Hope this helps. There are border actions you can download as well if you need to -- some that create drop shadow effects, ragged edges, etc.

Thanks for the help. I should learn to do this by myself but the plugin on this site //www.richardrosenman.com/software/downloads/ worked just fine for what I needed. |
