Well my excitement for the day was having an idiot coworker (the one who is dating my ex after lying about it) call the cops on me today (at work) and try to have me charged with threatening for a personal email I sent him earlier in the week. (it did not work, the police said what I did was not threatening)
However in the process he got us both suspended from work....grrr.
I am not a happy camper.

Okay.....it's a first!
I slogged through my dialup and.......100% COMMENTS!!!
So, do I just go find that icon or must it be officially bestowed upon me?
I know somebody here has it!

Be very careful, dude!
Turmoil in the workplace all too often ends up with all involved parties terminated so that the company avoids involvement and conflict.
If they can shoehorn any of the history into perception of against company policy.......
Be careful and don't let the @$$hole get under your skin.
The upshot is that you have an incident report that you weren't guilty of threatening him.....the downside is if you were trying to antagonize him, or that the e-mail could be construed as such, you already have a strike against you.
It really sucks to be unemployed right now.......8>(

Hi all,
I just wanted you all to know I'm thinking of you all, especially those who need to keep extra help and tolerance on hand, or have other difficult situations in life. Be well, and know those of us -- even those who've gotten a bit quieter lately -- are behind you.
Best,
Bruce

Kashi, you got me on this one. I'm still laughing. But really, you have been taking such good portraits of the little one, that I suspect our eyes will not be hurt all that much.
I'm in for FS and Fairy Tale. My average is already taking a beating this week with my 4.6 for Alone, so I decided to just forget about it (for a while anyway). Fairy Tale is really going to suck. I can already see the comments now, but I like it.
Ernie, be careful. One of those situations at my old job escalated in into a workplace shooting. |

Hey friends.
The good news is that my Drew is doing a bit of a reverse-Jeb and is now standing proud at 5.70.
the bad news is that I did lose my job today. :( I will not be sure till I get my paperwork next week if they are going to put "layed off" or "terminated". In Ontario terminated means that you do not get Employment Insurance. So it has not been a good day, and will be a very nervous week, and even in a best case scenerio I will be far past broke before I see any $ anyways. If they try to say that I am terminated they will have a huge fight on their hands, as they did not go through the required steps to do so according to Ontario law.
I am going to allow myself to stew a little this weekend (or get stewed...lol) and then get up Monday and kick some butt, take some names, and get myself something better as I watch my former workplace realize they made a huge mistake.
That is the plan anyhow. Flying by the seat of my pants, but I have survived before, and I will survive this as well.
Strangely enough my sort of wake up call was after I left my former place of work, feeling very upset. I went to the liquer store and bought some beer, and on the way out there were two nice people there collecting money for our local Aids Resource Network. I walked past them, got out the door, and then turned around. I gave them a couple bucks and realized that in the big picture, the really big picture, I am one hell of a lot better off than a lot of people, and millions of people from other places would love to be in the place I am right now.
God Speed to those that do not have their health, those that are fighting to keep me free, and those that are born into terrible circumstance.
I have health and brains and will make out just fine.
Thanks for listening.
Ernie

Ernie - I gotta believe you're gonna come out WAY ahead in all of this. You've got a good attitude and a really cute GIF with squirrels in it on your side. :-)

Here's a little public praise to help ya out.
My Alone in a Crowd entry is proving to be interesting. I now have 30 comments, probably 1/4 of which are DNMC, yet it's sitting at 6.3. :) Maybe I'll achieve the fabled reverse bell curve!
Ernie was one of the DNMC comments, so I sent him a PM asking for further info. Three minutes later, I had his response, and a totally new way of looking at my shot that reminded me once again that people will differ in how they perceive anything. A friend at work today saw it the same way he did.
So thanks, Ernie!

well thanks! any time you want a nice DNMC let me know. I am there for ya!
Seriously though, I think it is interesting how some people see things totally differently then others. I am glad that you asked for my opinion and that I was able to give you a different "view" on your shot. (and for those SC watching, he did not ask, nor did I change my score based on our conversation)

Yeah, ytou reminded me of that, as do most of you on a regular basis.
Yeah, I wrecked my car, and I've been having little luck finding a job, BUT.....
I have another vehicle to drive besides my wife's car, I am okay financially and will weather this slight setback......like Ernie says....there are so many people worse off than us that I can only wallow in self-pity for short periods.
Besides, my camera still works, I'm above ground......it's *all* good! LOL!!!
Hang in there Ernie!

I never ask because getting more details about a comment is worth SO much more than a changed vote.

So here's a weird stat.....I have managed to get to more comments made than received with the couple FS votes I just did, but I'm back 100 on helpful.
I guess that'll sharpen up as I get more comments, period, and am better at figuring out how to honestly comment on the shots that don't work for me and give relevant, helpful suggestions.

Jeb, the "Helpful" thing isn't really a valid indicator. There are some, like me, who mark everything received as "Helpful" (I keep track that way, and do feel all input is helpful) but there are others who NEVER mark anything as helpful - no way to know if they read them or not. |

Yep, and for us TS'rs there is much more important things than scores. :) I just wanted to point that out for anyone who might misconstrue something from the original point.

Yep. Although I gotta say having two 6+ scores going at the moment is pretty darn cool!

heehee! i'm with her! the only comment i haven't marked helpful is when someone said they just threw up a little. that doesn't help any of us, unless you consider someone throwing up on their keyboard a good mental image :-{
edit: i was tempted to mark even that comment as helpful, seeing as his opinion was that my picture was not appealing :P
