The reason that paragraph is easy to read is the simple context provided by the two- and three-letter words, whose order is unchanged when the first and last letters are left in place. We can read pretty much anything as long as "the" "it" "is" "a" "an" "as" "can" be" "you" are all intact.
I got a reply to this with a paragraph using only four-letter and longer words. It was completely unintelligible, evidence that it's the context, not the words themselves, that provides the easy understanding.

:) That's what I thought, but didn't know if I was missing it.
And, I could read it pretty easily, with only two words less than 3 letters...

I've seen this posted 8 million times lately and almost always by people who can't spell trying to stick it to the people who can. The thing is, the reason that people who can spell urge people who can't spell to learn isn't because it's impossible to read. It's because you look stupid. But I agree, that blurb is pretty interesting.

Being the one who posted it in another thread earlier this week, it was purely under the "pretty interesting" category. If you feel we're trying to "stick it to you", you might think about lightening up a little.
I meen, whuts it hert yu if wee luk stoopid? :) |

Oh, I didn't mean that that was the intention here. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I just think it's funny (or sad) the number of times I've seen this used as justification, like the nonspellers have finally been vindicated or something. |

Wow, tender sensitivities today. No, I wasn't refering to you. I'm on your side!
Ah, I see now, re-reading it, my issue was grammer, not spelling. Stick a "Speaking for myself" in front of my first sentence, as in: "Speaking for myself, being the one who posted....". Sorry about the confusion. |
