Sounds like we need to start a non-official team, which cannot score, called Team Limbo.

Hey Bruce, nice series! I know what fun it is to be stuck waiting for transportation, but the places I get stuck don't have fast food courts or book stores to browse. They do have bottled water - one cannot board a plane without it. They aren't as picky about it this time of year, though. And at some locations, there are donated paperbacks, for which we're all quite grateful.

Next time you get stuck, try DFW (Dallas-Fort Worth). It's a photogenic airport and you can take the little train 'round to all the terminals while you have nothing better to do.

p.s. Anyone else want a Christmas card? PM me a snail mail address if you do.

Well, it might not be the focus of the challenge, having colors work well together helps any color picture.

Note: I haven't commented (or voted!) in a challenge in awhile, so don't think I'm defending my own critique.

Ugh - My face hurts today, and I'm talking funny.

On Monday night, I broke one of my molars while eating a chocolate-covered cranberry. Last night I went in to my dentist, only to find that it was not fixable, and had it pulled right then and there.

Advil and Gravol got me through the night last night, but with 3 little kids to care for, I cannot sleep the day away today. I wish I could.

How about the Olympic Conceptual Limbo Team?

Oooch ouchie. Man I hate anything having to do with the dentist. How could something like that happen with just eating a cranberry? Poor thing. Hope the pain wears off soon.

I think it's an important part of the Suck Twelve Step Program to share our serenity as well as our despair. This morning I awoke to a 4.8 on my complementary colors photo. At first, I felt the terrible anomie that so often accompanies a low score. But after reading my one comment, succinctly explaining what was disliked about my photo, a sense of Serenity washed over me. Everything the commentor disliked about the photo is precisely what I liked. I realized that I had achieved what I wanted to achieve with that photo. I realized that those things which made it look unpolished to his eye were exactly the same things that made it look intimate and real to my own. Then I looked at my 4.8 in drewmedia. The very things that made it look chaotic to the voters were the things that made it exciting and fun to me. I realized that for these photos FOUR WAS MY RED BADGE OF COURAGE. Learn to Love the Four.

And when you get a THREE, then you can really get the party started...

edited to add: the first thing you lose when you get older is prepositions. I forget what the second thing is...

I embrace the four. Here's my Complementary Colors score - the lowest I've seen so far...

And if it gets the brown, that would be fine. I put it in knowing EXACTLY why people would not like it, because voters, in general, have a certain way that they "believe" a photo should look. So one comment gave me a reason why they did not like it, and that was the reason why i do LOVE it! hehe

In my eyes, it's a beautiful photo!

In true Team Suck fashion, I'm stuck in the muck in Alone. Went to bed with 4.6 and still have 4.6 with 65 votes. I had two possible entries for this challenge, and chose the one that evidently takes longer than 2 seconds to appreciate.

y'all are making me feel bad that I'm not voting as much. Right now I'm saving up for the Free Study... I wish I could start voting in advance...

In the spirit of Team Suck, I am also embracing my 4 that is in the Alone challenge. It's also what I wanted to enter, and some comments have gotten it, others have not. If everyone could see into my head, it would be quite a scary place. So this is a good thing :)

Well, I've just entered my definitely 4 worthy shot in FS. I love it. Yet I know it will get trashed. I'm OK with that. My drewmedia is currently at 4.6. Embrace the 4's, embrace the suck... lol!
11/28/2007 03:59:46 PM · #2019
Oh, I'm embracing my suck BIG time - my drewmedia entry has done a nice reverse-jeb, and jumped up to a 4.1 !

I think you should feel basically good about it, and even that some people are beginning to perceive the the dedication of the input and the quality of the output in your pictures. Alternatively, I'm designing a line in camera straps with a quickly detachable spiky end for self-flagellation.

Dad made another amazing recovery. (To be totally honest I thought this was it!) He rebounded quickly this time and was doing well, very well in fact. And so I was set to leave at 10 AM this morn. So last night at 11 we get a call, he got confused and got out of the hospital bed to go look for my mom, tried to sit in a chair that had wheels and fell. So back we went from 11 to midnight.
Then the fun began. I was to got from Detroit to Chicago to Philadelphia. Got to Chicago and decided to check on my seating arrangements only to find out that the flight was cancelled. So when I left at sunrise for the airport this morn, I watched sunset on the last flight. So here is the puddle jumping schedule: Detroit ... Chicago ... Pittsburgh ... Philadelphia! AND ... they lost my luggage. Go figure. I'm thrilled to be home!

Thanks for the nice comments.
