Oh, the irony. But that's their cross to carry. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
So, we could stop buying crucifixes made in China, but then they'll have to layoff all those kids. Then they'll have to go back to making $.00/hour instead of the $.265/hour.
On another note, I find it ironic that my (catholic) 3 year old knows more about Santa Claus than he knows about Jesus. I'm going to stop calling it Christmas; instead refer to it as, "Happy Jesus's Birthday" instead. |

Oh, and the AFL-CIO would also like us to be buying them from a union shop paying unskilled American workers "union wages" - that would be $25-50 per hour, full benefits, defined benefit retirement and of course the featherbedding work rules.
America has voted against unions with our wallets (they hang on only in government jobs or areas that can can control by semi-extortion such as construction). I for one will not be guilted by them.

Could be quite boring reading. Doesn't contain high drama, extreme exaggerations, or inflamatory statements.

Chinese crucifix - I'll have to look for some to add to my christmas list. I usually receive from my mom, hand crafted, possibly by children in a sweatshop - Mexican crosses, (lately ceramic) They are really quite beautiful.
Those dang unions, inventors of the five day week, minimum wage and 8 hour day, child labor rules - am so glad they have always been untrustworthy. |

how wierd,i found a cross cleaning a demolished house,it looks just like the ones in the link below...thought it would make a good gothic prop,strange world isnt it?

Funny, we were in China last year during Christmas (Happy Birthday Jesus Day) and were suprised how much Christmas decorations there were. We were in Nanging (I know that's spelled wrong it's sounds like "Nang-ging") and "Father Christmas" or was it "Grandpa Christmas" was around along with Christmas trees. It was odd in such a non-Christian country. |
