I am working on my first "photo book" - 1 12x12 version offered by Shutterfly.

First...doesn anyone have experience with that particular book?

Second...Is it safe to assume that I will "lose" a small portion of the page side that will go in the binding (the center?) Or do they somehow allow for that and I will see my complete 12x12 layout?

Thanks!

I have not worked with them, but I have with others, and normally they offer a template to show you 'printable area' 'safe zone' 'full bleed' areas. Each of these areas you have to design to. Meaning, if you absolutely need everything to be shown, it has to be in the 'safe area', although you may, or may not have a white border. Anything outside the safe area is possible to be seen or cut.

best bet is search the site for a template for that book, to help you design properly and safely.
