I've got 743 photos I took at five second intervals and want to make it into an animation. Already resized them all to 640 pixels & compressed. I've done it before using Windows Movie Maker, but it's a junky workaround for making an animation.

Does anybody know of any half-decent freebies to string together my shots, add a soundtrack, and create a movie file?

Yes, but it's a pretty junky workaround to do what I want...

It is kinda junky, but the trick is, to do small bits at a time.

No way for it to handle all the images, and even 100 at a time is a bugger. But do small bits to make the animation, then connect the bits together. in the final version add the music/narration

Other then that, you may be paying High dollar for Cyberlink director or some other movie program. Most movie makers has the ability to create movies from stills. Only stills are always a bugger to work with, to get the timeing of each one correct.

Saying that, there is a freeware program that I once used, very basic but did exactly what you want, but I cant for the life of me remember what it is called..

Will google around for a while..

I'm only 34 (ok 35 next month) and I remember the good old days quite well. Man, I wish we could have a resurgence of single exe programs.
