I'm going to be flying from Calgary to Comox airport this weekend, and then back to Calgary via Vancouver airport. I've taken my photography equipment with me to Québec before, but I didn't bring Pocket Wizards. Does anyone have any experience with PWs in Canadian airports? I'm planning on bringing my camera equipment as carry-on luggage, and don't want them to think the PWs are some sort of detonators or something. Should I pack them in my luggage instead?

As long as you duct tape one of them to a capped 18" section of 2" pipe and strap it to your chest, you should be just fine.

Don't pack it in your luggage, it'll be fine. Your carry-on is x-rayed. Sometimes camera equipment is swabbed to test for explosive material (mine was this past September at Pearson). You'll be through in seconds. Don't sweat it.

Yeah, they swabbed my stuff at Québec City Airport, too. I was more worried that someone unfamiliar with photography would worry about the PWs. They are, after all, a bit suspicious-looking.

Thanks, Louis!
