IMO perfectly exposed. No red tints in the skin on the calibrated monitor. Looks identical to the one above when on the uncalibrated selection

I prefer the other other one. This one looks washed out...

The first photo looks great.

The second looks washed out or over-exposed.

FWIW - I use a Huey.

And when I first set it up, I thought I had an over saturation in the reds too. Took a while to really get used to how things looked.

Well, the only real difference I can see with the new image is that it looks brighter, and less saturated (the greens aren't as dominant) - I don't see any significant colour shifts.

I just color sampled the exact same point on both images, a skin tone. I levels adjusted the 'new' image to make the Blue value the same as the original image (i.e. I just reduced the overall brightness of the image to make them match, without changing colour balance) and it gives me;

Orig Image RGB = 228, 187, 185
New Image RGB = 226, 188, 185

So there's nothing in it. Just reduce the levels on your new image and it should look roughly the same as the original colour-wise. Here's the original on the right, and your edit on the left (with my levels adjustment) The only difference I can see is contrast.

I agree, almost no saturation on the reds at all.

Well I did adjust the saturation to get the reds out. Is there a way to adjust without using the saturation?

Just found this posted somewhere; "Also, when you properly calibrate the monitor you might notice some odd looking colors (such as a pink tint to an otherwise pure white color). This is perfectly normal. The reason for it is that when you calibrate your monitor it is displaying colors properly whereas before it wasn't (but it seemed like it was since your eyes were used to it). After a few days, your eyes will adjust to the calibration and you will see proper colors vivid and clear."

It's really difficult to tell if there's a fault with the Huey, the monitor, or your eye-brain combination :) So perhaps if you worked with it for a couple of days to see if you get used to it? It took me a while to get used to the pink tint on mine, especially coming home from the uncalibrated monitors at work and switching it on.

I'd bet on it being a faulty brain :-D

I bought a HUEY tonight, didn't get a chance to try it yet but I'm excited. I post results when I get it running.

Just installed my HUEY only took a minute or so. Best 79.00 dollars i've spent in a while. Now I have to install a KVM switch.

So my Spyder express comes yesterday...this morning my monitor dies and I have to send it in for service (under warranty still). What a lousy coincidence!

Fortunately, I just got this laptop or I'd be without a computer for a while.

just wanted to let everyone know that I have been running the Huey now for about a week and it is correct. It was a problem with my brain before. I was so used to seeing it a certain way. Now I think it is good.
