Yeah it sounds great. I'm tired of living in London and missing all the DPC events. |

BIG house move for me this weekend so things have been a bit hectic here for a few days! As soon as I am unpacked and settled, probably late next week, I'll start firing ideas at all those interested in meeting on the 8th or 9th December :o) |

MAK - Sent you a PM yesterday, did it reach you? :o)
Andi and I are staying in London on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th December. I'd love to get out to Richmond park as it's been a good few years since I was last there but not sure others will want to venture that far out?
Saturday meeting somewhere near the Tate Modern for a stroll along the southbank and then...erm...hopefully someone else will have a few ideas and know of a good pub or two to stop for 'refreshments' along the way ;o) |

Sounds like a blast! The 2nd December would be perfect for me, as I'm down south at the moment but up for this weekend for a 'reunion' of sorts... but if it's 8th/9th, I can certainly try my best :D
Ohh, and 'refreshments' sound like a great idea lol

Hey Ingrid...whereabouts 'down south' are you at the moment? I'm in East Sussex for the forseeable future so if you're around this way give me a shout :o)
Will be great if you can make it on the 8th/9th...the 'refreshment stops' are definitely the most important parts of the day! ;o) |

Hey Mike, the feelings mutual! Will be good to put a few faces to names! I haven't been to London on a photography 'trip' for over a year now so it'll be nice to get the camera out up there again :o) As for the kick up the backside...I might not be able to give you a kick but watch out for my walking sticks, they are lethal ;o)
I'll start a list towards the end of next week of who's likely to be there :o) |

Is the free parking for Richmond?
Glad you got the PM, I always worry that they just disappear into the DPC 'darkness' lol |

Ah, the joys of having a disabled badge! ;o) We never have to worry about parking again lol :o)
Not sure how Andi would feel about this but I'd love to be able to get over to Richmond early morning one of those days! Might need to do some persuading on that one lol |

Richmond Park isn't very wheelchair friendly as far as I can tell, especially if you want to get really good shots of the deer etc. Just thought I'd mention it. |

Yes, sadly I remember it being a little too much for someone 'in my condition' :o( Hitting the south bank after a lay in and a nice breakfast sounds the best idea to me! Plus poor Andi's gonna have a long day of pushing me around so need to keep things on the flat as much as possible lol ;o) |

Just had a great fundraising idea! Whilst I'd be happy to push you around all day T maybe peeps would donate some spare change to have the opportunity to be able to say they helped push around London ;)
*wanders off wondering if his cunning plan will work* |

I was on the Southbank on Wednesday evening, it is incredibly wheelchair friendly all along there, I am sure you'll have a great time. Not sure what time you are planning to arrange the GTG for, but in case you are interested, there is a car-park next to the Tower of London/Tower Bridge (an NCP) that is open 24 hours but after 2pm on a Saturday only costs £2 for the rest of the day. If you was looking at starting later in the day, this would allow the group to get some amazing late afternoon/twilight/night shots of the areas as they are lit up! We could even make our way up to Westminster then get the River boat back down to Tower Bridge at the end of the GTG, a great way to finish the day! Just an idea. |

I've pushed a friend in a wheelchair around London once, I wouldn't mind doing it for part of the day. If I can make it, that is. Looks good at the moment though. I might bring some friends from the Photography Society.
But I'd need to know what day it's gonna be so that I can book bus tickets. |

Yeh we can afford £2 OK, this sounds like a better deal that £1 every 15 minutes for normal southbank parking. I could certainly make a Saturday then. |

That's where I'm starting work on Monday! Brighton to be exact :) However I'll be living in Ashford, so the commute's going to be horrible lol
I'll do my very best to come up to London on the 8th/9th, if I can get out of helping the other half with his new pub! |

Thanks for the great tips folks :o) I love the idea of the river boat later in the day Mark, Damian and I used to take the boat to Greenwich quite often in the Summer so it'd be great to make a little trip back to tower bridge once everyones worn out! ;o)
Gilles, I am sure Andi will appreciate the offer of a helping hand with the wheelchair pushing! I've just had my first ride out in the new 'wheels' and am feeling a lot better about things now, it moves much easier than I expected and is very comfortable :o)
Right, lets set things up...
Date: SATURDAY 8th DECEMBER
Time: 12 noon - possibly picking others up along the way or later in the day? :o)
Meeting Place: Tate Modern / Millenium Bridge - somewhere in the vicinity would be great for Andi and I as we are staying just round the corner!
How does this sound to everyone? We can make more definite route plans a little closer to the date but hopefully the basics will allow us to just get an idea of who'll be there...
So far, I think, is:
Me :o)
Ecce Signum
MAK
Hanae
And the rest?

Any idea how long we're staying there? I was fine on my own for three hours last time but this time it's gonna be colder I think.
Edit: Meh, the funfares on National Express are gone already :/

I'm happy to be led by everyone else, I know it's certainly got colder this past week or so but if we stroll from there towards the London Eye (I think I've got that right!) I'm sure we'll find the odd place to stop for a coffee and to warm up! :o)
I'm sure Andi will be here later to add his thoughts too :o) |

No, I meant that as in how long is the GTG roughly going to last? |
