I was thinking about buying one soon.
I haven't test driven one yet, but thought I'd ask for the collective DPC insight!!!!

Oh yeah, it's going to be the American version as I live here!

Thanks.

Check out consumer reports. I don't know about the newest version but the older ones don't have a great repair record.

They are cute though. ;o)

ETA: Just looked at CR. Prior to 2006 they weren't rated too well but the 06 and 07 models seem to be ok. They seem to be getting better.

My dads friend has one and I drove it once. Its pretty quick and alot of fun to drive. I read somewhere they also have the best resale value.

My brother has one and I got to drive it through the Adirondack Mountains. FUN! Corners really nicely! :-)

I just got one in September -- wouldn't trade it for the world! Not much (any) leg room in the back but my only requirements were:

1. My new car needed to be the least "Mom Car" available since I was no longer hauling around packs of kids and
2. Have heated seats.

The fact that it handles fantastic, gets great mileage and looks really cool are just added benefits.

Go for it!

Just make sure you get the Mini Cooper S, not just the normal one. Cause well...why would you want the slow version anyway? :P

Old models are best, those new BMW ones are not real Mini Coopers. The best model was the Mini Cooper S.

They were fun to drive, nimble and minimal. Although the Cooper and Cooper S did have a rev counter and wider wheels!

If you like your butt scraping on the ground and absurd road holding, they were so responsive, you could easily put them off the road, but you will have more fun than a threesome with PlayGirls or a Rampant Rabbit, than you ever thought possible.

Think I covered most orientations there? Get an original Mini Cooper S and relive the Italian Job! :))
