I think that it is nice to see other photos from other sites but why not look closer on dpchallenge! There is more talent here than you think! There are plenty of wonderful captures right here at home that don't get comments or discussions on them. Just browse the galleries... |

I agree that there is some good talent at DPC, but it's still nice to see what else is going on out there. I suppose the new forum " Individual Photograph Discussion" will help highlight some nice DPC and non DPC images.

I agree it is nice to see what else is out there. Put a link to it. IMO, the discussions should be on dpc photos at dpc's site.

Well the photographer who took the photo *IS* a member of this site, and has been since March 2003. So are you saying photographs only that have been uploaded to DPC? If that's the case then no one would be able to post photographs from pbase or any other external site.
I do understand where you are coming from, but surely an appreciation and dicussion of all photography should hopefully enable us to learn from it and thereby be a good thing. Whether it's discussing an Ansel Adams photograph (mentioned here because he's *THE* photographer to mention when dropping names) or someone most of us have never heard of, if you learn something from it then it's good. DPC'ers are not being robbed of exposure as there are plenty of people who will and like to discuss their own or other photographers that have appeared in challenges here.
I, personally, am all for other people expanding my knowledge and vision by introducing me to new styles, visions, helpful websites, and photographers, no matter where they are from.
