I like the average vote given statistic, but it really doesn't really say anything at all. If every blue ribbon earned a 10 and every brown ribbon earned a 1 it might be useful. Then if your average was five you would know that you were an average voter, but that is not how things work.

The statistics on votes given should include a "vote accuracy" statistic. This statistic would show whether the person consistently voted higher or lower than the photo's final score by percentage.

This I feel would be an extremely useful statistic. It may be confusing at first, since we vote in whole numbers and not real numbers. No voter could earn 100% accuracy, but it would soon be regarded as a very accurate indicator of how each voter votes.

baa...baa....baaa....

Although it's tempting to vote on which images I think will win a challenge based on how closely they conform to DPC style, I'd much rather vote according to my own preferences.

So I guess that'd make me an inaccurate voter.

sometimes I just give everyone a 10 to counter-act the trolls

Then you don't really care what your vote given statistics are and you don't count. Just ignore the statistic. It is more for fun than to make you conform.

...a noble but misguided voting technique, I suppose.

Sometimes I give everyone fives in an utterly misguided effort to make everyone average.

I would be all for this statistic if I could turn it off on my profile. 1) I honestly don't care how my vote compares to other votes or a final tally of votes for an image. 2) What if my vote was more accurate than everyone elses. I know sometimes I look at an image and see that I voted it a seven and think- I gave "that" a seven. Or sometimes- "I can't believe I only gave that a 4.

What if other people think the same thing after voting and it turns out my four was more accuate than their sixes.

Sorry, but I think enough voting goes on based on some kind of preconceived notion of what a "winning" shot looks like.

I suppose that the stat might be too dangerous and cause uprisings against trolls.

Doesn't the system have an anti-trolling mechanism built in? I guess that those trolls are sneaky beasts.
