I have been watching this list as it gets bigger hoping I can find something that I can give to another member. I would rather give than receive.
But in the spirit of things - here is a list of wants/needs in no particular order:
1. For some friends of mine who are facing difficulties to be strong and pull through and know that they have people who love them that they can count on.
2.Good health and peace to everyone I know.
3.Anything I could use to start my own home studio - I have nothing to work with - no lightboxes, lights, backgrounds, props etc...
4.For all of our troops to be able to come home
5.More sales of my pictures (on here or stock - just added new prints on DPC if anyone is interested **hint hint**)
6.To sell my Sinaloan Milksnake hatchlings so I have money to do Christmas shopping for my friends and family.
7.A window or small standing portable a/c unit to cool down our spare bathroom so we can brumate our snakes in hopes of a good breeding season next year.
8.For myself and my roommates to find a new house so we can move already!!
9.To be able to make it to a DPC GTG already.
10.Christmas cards from around the world.
11.New released books from my favorite authors (James Rollins, Clive Cussler, Tim Dorsey, Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child)

I can help you out with everything on your list, you just need to pack up and come live at my place in Alaska. I have a three bedroom home, so you can stay in one of the two empty ones. |

I may have a few things that are wished for and will PM the wishers if I do...
My list:
A replacement 77mm lenscap for my 24-70 (lost on Halloween night)
A replacement hood for my Sigma 10-20 (lost sometime in fall)
Not to lose stuff anymore
Photography/photoshop books & magazines
To help my "mentees" make better pictures
Home studio stuff (especially lights) so I don't have to use my 13" fluorescents
A ribbon for wickee_one
A 7+ score on anything because I'm tired of jello being my highest scoring shot

I see that several peeps have asked for photoshop tutorials. I can not help there but I have a brand new copy of "How to do everything with Photoshop 7" that is would love to send to someone. I do not have photoshop 7, so it does me no good.
Interested? PM me with your address. First request gets it. |

I love these threads, it's so nice to see people helping others out no matter how large or small! :)
Hmmm, the wish list:
1. A DSLR, I like my P&S but a dslr would definitely give me something to play with & (hopefully) advance!
2. Small pet hats for Rusty & Kit (our cats) to be harrassed with! haha :)
3. Photoshop CS3
4. As several others have mentioned, shotglasses from around the world would be neat, I have probably over 100+ already, mostly from the eastern USA though.
5. For everyone to have a wonderful Christmas (or whichever holiday you celebrate)!!
6. A print of cgino's "Catitude" poster shown here:
7. To be able to make photography somewhat of a second income.
8. Sell one (or more) of my photos on dcprints
9. For my friends & family to get everything they wish for for Christmas!
10. All of DPC to be happy & not bicker for ONE day!! haha ;)
Edit to add: NOT in any particular order :)

Hey Rex, thanks for starting this year's holiday wishlist!
I've scanned through the wishes above and will keep an eye out to see if I can fulfill any this year. I managed a couple last time which was a lot of fun!
Here are some of mine in no particular order, most of which are ones that cost money so I know they aren't likely but what the heck, this is a wishlist right?!
1) EDIT I'm removing this from the list because I've finally tracked down a great (and less expensive) source in the UK and will be ordering some in the next week!I absolutely adore The Mountain t-shirts. You can occasionally find them in the UK but the stores that stock them tend to have only a handful of their designs and never the ones I want. My favourites from their 2007 collection are Close Encounter, Beauty and the Beast, Running Cheetah, Two Elephants, Two Rhinos, In The Mist, Bright Eyes, Pocket Leapers and any of those in XL would be a MOST fabulous gift indeed.
2) Small sized notebooks - can be hardback, softback, spiral bound, preferably with lined paper. I use these as trip diaries whenever I travel and I love having pretty and unusual books instead of boring plain ones. Main thing is that they are roughly A5 in size.
3) Second hand birding/ animal guide books for East Africa (Kenya and Tanzania)
4) Some ultra thin gloves that are extremely warm, preferably waterproof but allow full dexterity for camera users whilst wearing them - I'm going back to the Antarctic next winter and the gloves I took last time I just couldn't shoot with so ended up gloveless most of the time. I know you have to suffer for your art (and believe me, I did, I was lying on my belly on the cold ground covered in penguin poop more than once) but frozen fingers do not a happy Kavey make. Someone told me they found something like what I'm describing in the States from a shop relating to rifle shooting enthusiasts.
5) More mundane = toiletries: decent quality moisturiser, gentle face wash for use in shower, bath oils.
6) Some more purchases of the Mamta's Kitchen apron. If you have any friends who are into cooking Indian food, especially if they already know and use Mamta's Kitchen, maybe think about buying them one of our aprons for Xmas or even just passing the gift idea along to your friends if they ask for ideas for their friends and family. We launched them recently hoping to make a few sales towards the costs of running the site but have only sold a handful so far. They are absolutely top quality professional chefs aprons with high quality embroidered logo.
7) Free or cheap loans of L glass telephoto lenses for our trip to Africa next year (we're based in London so this one's probably only possible for a UK DPCer who has a huge lens arsenal or owns a rental store). We have full photo gear insurance which we'd add the item to.
8) A subscription to BBC Wildlife magazine.
9) Some clear or white sticky-back whiteboard in a roll or sheets large enough to apply to our upright freezer unit. Need to be able to write on it with regular whiteboard markers and drywipe clean. I'm sure this stuff exists but can't find any in UK that doesn't have lines or grids marked on the sheets.
10) I have a million fantasy wishes about the health and happiness of certain loved ones, no more extinctions of flora and fauna, a stop to environmental damage, oh and being able to sing, but I'll keep on hunting my genie in a lamp for those!
Thanks for reading!
REX
I have a shotglass from somewhere or other (not London) that someone sent me as a gift. I'm trying to declutter and don't collect or use shotglasses so would be happy to send this to you if it's a location you want. I'll need to find it tomorrow and let you know. It's a US destination so you might already have it.
PHOTO POSTCARDS
I have some postcards with my Tomboy image on them (cute lion cub, there's a thumbnail only in my profile). I'd be happy to send one out to the first 5 people who PM me their address details.

Anyone asking for clothing items, can you provide your size? That way if any of us have (un-used) gifts (such as funky socks) lying around we know whether they'll be of interest.

This is really cool idea, so here's my list:
1. An old TLR camera, a Kodak Duaflex or an Argus, it doesn't have to be in working condition. I want to try a through the viewfinder shot.
2. 67mm ND filter
3. Unusual postcards
4. For everybody to have a happy holiday season |

1. One of those rings to connect a 52mm lens onto the end of a 58mm lens
2. To spend a few hours with a professional photographer as a second shooter or simply to help out (for the benefit of learning more and getting more practice/experience)
3. Any of Gary Fong's acessiories for my Canon 430EX Flash
4. A grip for my 400D
5. Someone to help me design a logo for my silly 'Your Own Lane' project (I have the design in my head but am no artist)
6. Anything listed in my ThinkGeek.com Wishlist!
7. For my little girl to learn how to say "I love you daddy"!

A mix of mostly unrealistic mumbo jumbo from me.
1. Backdrops that are wide enough for more than 1 person
2. A true macro lens for my D50
3. People to buy copies of my Memorial Print for Kasey
4. Bum Genius 2.0 diapers for Bear
5. A Vista-compatible version of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements
6. A pug
7. Someone to come suck away ~50 lbs from my body
8. A minivan to replace our falling-apart Cavalier
9. For my mom to live long enough that my children will remember her (she has cancer, just finished chemo, is not in remission and doesn't expect ever to be)
10. A SB-600 or SB-800 for my D50
And finally - for Melethia and all our other tropps to come home safe.

I am blessed with a wonderful husband, wonderful children, good health all around (especially after my scare in March)and stable finances so I don't have any true needs but I do have a wants.
The big # 1 & 2 wants:
1 The never -YET- reached hope that for People & Countries to look past their differences and find that âvoiceâ that will join us together to create a better, safer, and healther world.
2 The continued good health & happiness for my children, my family, my friends, and myself for the many years ahead...
3 Hoya Mooseâs Polarizer 52mm
4 Two small Swedish Dala Horses for my children who are into collecting cultural things especially horses right now (they already have Russian Nesting Dolls, Japanese Koi Kites, and eskimo dolls).
5 A small 12â or 22ââ Photoflex LiteDisc Gold/Silver compact Fold-up Reflector.
6 Anywhere from 4 to 6 target (not hunting) arrows for my bow. I really want to get back into archery. Carbon/Aluminium/wood shafts are all O.K. My draw length is 29 inches so I would need a 30 inch arrow.

I am doing a bit of end of the year cleaning - have not finished yet but I have two items that if anyone wants them just PM me.
I have a spare Hardcover edition of the 7th Harry Potter book. It is in excellent condition. (Don't know how to do the strikeout line but I just got a PM requesting the book. Kelli check your e-mail)
One hard resin cast Seashell Wall Clock -hands are broken off though. Too beautiful to just toss out.
[thumb]613174[/thumb]
If anyone is handy with removing the backing (Michaels sells them) and replacing the hands it would work again. I was going to take the back out of it and make it into a sundail but I have really have no place in the garden to put it. Mayhap it might also make an interesting prop.
