Sounds like we'll have a worldwide discussion about copyright and who really owns it...

He's just worried about these telephoto shots that make him look even smaller than he actually is.

It's not about copyright. It's about Prince controlling the use of his likeness. The photographer owns the copyright, but, the subject (assuming it's a person) controls the use of their likeness. It's the reason for model releases.

That's not to say I agree with Prince. I think some, maybe all, of these actions are beyond the scope of the law and, in fact, only serve to alienate him from his fans, his source of income.

I understand him wanting to control his likeness and works, However slapping the fans in the face is pretty cold. It took me almost 20 years to learn to respect Prince as an artist, It only took 2 minutes to lose that respect. This reminds me of when Metallica started sueing their fans for downloading songs on Napster.
