This thread was timely for me - my membership expired a week ago. I was going through a wobbly patch and decided not to renew, but reading this has persuaded me that was a bad decision (even if I am only scoring 5.2 in the current free Study). Off to find my credit card, and get dressed again - damned cold without that shirt on!

Glad you renewed, Sara. A bit off topic, but my curiosity has a grip on me - is the "wobbly patch" a topless bar? ;-)

Curiosity is not such a bad thing, even if it didn't do the cat a lot of good. I think the thing that got a grip on you there may have another name though.

I have til next August until renewal, but I am already thinking hard whether I want to carry on or not. DPC is a great site, but is becoming dominated by a select few. It seems to be about where you fit by name, rather than by the photos and threads you post to.

There are a lot of people here who will help you, but there are as many who will ignore you cos you aren't in their cliche! I like the concept of the site, but feel it is becoming a select personality site rather than an open, free speech site.

Gimmie names... I'll sent Art to burn their villages and take em out. Seriously, who are you talking about here?

You should not re-new.

You should stay. How are you going to fill your day without the update button?

Seriously I have found the prcatice of doing challenges makes me get out there with the camera. I enjoy the contest of the challenges but I don't beat myself up over the scores - which is lucky!

Stay - you know ya wanna!

My membership expires in 4 days and I am weighing whether or not to remain a member (read: looking for encouragement to stay). :)

After one year, I really thought I would have a higher average and would at least place in a challenge.

I am continuously learning and do spend a lot of time reading the suggestions and advice that is being offered. Of course, I am leaning towards continuing with DPC, but validation would help. ;)

Thanks

I've been a member since May 2005. In that time frame, I have achieved one ribbon - a third place after someone got DQ'd. :/ I've had 2 other shots place 5th. My average is lower than what I feel I deserve. I can't for the life of me figure out why I stick around. Go with what your gut tells you.

Art, I would be very wobbly if I were in a topless bar, as I could be described as being on the well-endowed side....

Jedusi, that might cause a few raised eyebrows at work...

Nah, what I meant was I needed to get my
<<-- blue shirt back on.
