ok, with all your equipment, why take the worst lens you own? Take the 16-35 2.8 and the 50mm and you'll be fine. No flash shouldn't be a problem provided the weather is ok so try and position her near a window to make the most of the natural light.
Oops, sorry. You'll be outdoors. With no flash you'll be at the mercy of the elements so pray for good weather. Do you have a reflector or anything? Even some tin foil or anything would do a job? Failing that, you can even ask her to hold a coupld of sheets of paper to reflect some light back at her.
Good luck though.

i recently did my first job also. for outdoor shots you really should use a flash if it's mid day/sunny. if you must shoot then, try to shoot them in the shade like under a tree or something. if you don't have a flash you should try to do the shoot about 1 hr before sunset. that way you won't get the harsh ugly shadows on faces.
forget the 18-55, go with the 50mm. good luck, just have fun! |

Let me get this right, your shooting, editing, and buying a reflector, and charging $60? Seems to me your in the hole already before you click the shutter one time.

im only buying a reflector... i would have bought one anyway... plus its good most likely no stress and im doing good for someone too keep in mind... not like i care but it still feels good
but if she refers me to a friend etc... or comes back for a yearly portrait.. etc...etc...etc... things can add up |
