Ugh - I am just so frustrated at the moment. DPC has become such a life-line over the past year and a bit. Our camera (yep we share one: best beloved and myself) is in for repairs and it's been gone for 3 weeks and will only be back in a week's time. We had a great Centenary Celebration at church this last week: members brought along art works for display: I distracted myself a bit by getting some prints done of DPC submissions: must say that I impressed myself. It's been a looong time since I printed images.
Got them mounted and they did me proud. Now the celebration is over and I'm just itching to shoot something for the Duotones challenge:grrr...chewing at my nails. May be forced out there with my kid's point and shoot just to satisfy the desire. |

You should!!! You could totally surprise yourself with how great an image you can make with a p&S. Remember- it's the photographer not the equipment! :0D

Frustrating, for sure. Been there.
Look what  JeffryZ did with his point and shoot.

Plus, sometimes it really helps to expand your vision by making you operate in a different way or interact with reality differently. I bet you really surprise yourself!
...now I'm considering using my P&S for the next challenge.... |

Okay this is crazy: I went out and shot an image I had been toying with - used my P+S (of the authentic kind) and on automatic...how more "from the hip" could one be! Got home and looked up the data: it's on 1/14s at f2.8 ...no tripod. Anyway processed according to my favourite procedures for duotones and found a fairly pleasing image which I submitted. It's been ages since I submitted anything and I'm strangely anxious about this one.
GOOD NEWS - camera repair people called this morning and said our baby is ready for collection. |

Once you have some knowledge about Photography and Post Processing in your head.
You can shoot better with anything. |
